Overview

After creating an account and accepting the terms for Walmart Marketplace, Walmart Fulfillment Services, and Walmart Ad Center, you will need to complete a three-step setup process on the Seller Center homepage. This process includes Business Verification, Payments, and Shipping, and must be finished before you can list your items on Walmart.com.

Step 1: Business Verification

Before you can Start selling on Walmart in 3 simple steps, you will need to go through a process called “business verification”. This process involves providing some important information about your business, such as your Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), business address, and customer service email and phone number. It’s important to enter your details exactly as they appear in your IRS records to avoid any processing delays.

If you are a Marketplace seller based outside of the United States, you may need to provide some additional information for business verification purposes, such as location-specific documentation.

NOTE*- If Walmart is unable to verify the information you provided during the business verification process, you will see a “Failed” message on the verification tile. If this happens, you should review the information you provided and make any necessary corrections before resubmitting it. If you continue to have problems, you can contact Partner Support by following this path: Partner Account/Profile > Complete My Onboarding Checklist > Seller Center Registration

Step 2: Payment

After your business has been verified by Walmart, you can select one of the third-party payment processors – Poyneer, Hyper wallet*, or Ping-Pong – that work with Walmart Marketplace to receive payments. The available payment processor options depend on your location as a seller.

New Walmart Marketplace sellers will have a payment hold for a certain period to establish a sales history and gain credibility with customers. The duration of the hold varies based on the seller and the country of incorporation, and it will remain in effect until they fulfill the requirements listed in Payment Periods, Reports, & Adjustment Requests.

To manage your payments and learn more about the financial aspects of selling on Walmart Marketplace, visit the Financial Settings section in Seller Center

*If you’re a new seller, regardless of whether you use Hyper wallet as a payment processor, you’ll need to create a new account with them to receive payments from Walmart Marketplace.

Step 3: Shipping

After setting up your account and verifying your business, the next step is to configure your Shipping Templates and accept the terms and conditions for Walmart Returns Shipping Service (RSS). This includes providing the address for your Return Center to make your products available for sale on Walmart.com.

Walmart Shipping Templates allow you to customize delivery regions, prices, and shipping speeds for your items based on product price or weight. You can even select Advanced setup for more customization options.

To learn how to customize your shipping settings, please refer to the “Shipping Templates” section in the Seller Center.

For guidance on managing returns for your Walmart Marketplace sales, please refer to the “Process Returns” section in your Seller Center account. You can also review the Marketplace Returns Policy for detailed information on return guidelines and requirements.

Please note that as a Marketplace seller on Walmart.com, you are required to accept the default Value shipping settings and Standard shipping settings, which include 3 to 5-day free shipping for all 48 states. However, you can customize your shipping settings by creating custom Shipping Templates and assigning groups of SKUs to different templates. It’s important to ensure that the shipping address is correct and can accept returns for your business. As a seller, you will be responsible for charges related to incorrect addresses or rerouted packages. For more information on managing your shipping settings, please see Seller Center Shipping Templates.
